Great Cruise - Best Food EVER!!

Sail Date: March 2014
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

We just returned from a 7 night Eastern Caribbean from 3/29 to 4/5 and found the Reflection the best cruise out of 16 on various cruise lines. Celebrity is very obviously focusing on great food. We were very impressed with every venue except the Lawn Club (pizza parlor with a view). For $85 a couple we didn't think it stood up to the rest of Celebrity's food.

The ENTERTAINMENT, I would have to agree, wasn't loud, it was on the edge of pain. Too bad X spent so much money on the production numbers to have some holding their ears shut. The music choice, too, was poor and some themes didn't follow through. The broadway night suddenly injected some early rock and roll. Broadway?? The individual acts were superb - juggler, magician, physical feats - all great - and the cruise director, Ian, was very entertaining and quick.

We ate at MURANO one night and thought it was fantastic - great food, service and venue. It was expensive, but worth every penny. Actually the food in More the OCEANVIEW restaurant was excellent for a buffet and the 3000 passengers found the flow surprisingly good. The selection was amazing.

The main dining room - OPUS - had great food and service and it would be difficult to fault. We always prefer early sitting to the late and we think it's great to have the same waiter serve us.

For the SUN WORSHIPPERS, there was always enough deck chairs and the solarium was a welcome escape for the hot sun around the regular pools. Lots of towels and no shortage of drinks.

We opted for AQUA CLASS this round and loved it - even though we only ate at BLU a couple of times.

The "suite" was roomy and the butler very attentive. We will do that again.

We miss a quiet piano bar on the ship. The sound level was decidedly high nearly everywhere.

I guess we're showing our age. But for the most part, Celebrity is our line of choice and Reflection is now on the top of that list.

Cabin review: Celebrity Reflection 2119

Roomy, nicely appointed, good bed, quiet.

Port and Shore Excursions

We caught a cab to downtown and bought jewelry and some delicious Belgian Chocolate after
which we strolled the beach for a time, had a beer and took the water taxi back to the dock.
Beautiful weather the whole time.

We were docked at Havensight and took a cab to downtown where we shopped for jewelry
and had lunch at Cuzzins cafe. Then caught a cab back to the ship after looking around at
the shops nearby. Thankfully there were only two ships in that day.
