Although the changes have resulted in a beautiful ship, the Sunshine would not be considered one of my favorites. The Serenity deck is awesome and the new water park is fun, especially the slides. They are a lot faster than the others we have used. This was our 14th Carnival cruise and again was very enjoyable. The remake of the Lido Marketplace was nice. Didn't experience any long waits for lunch. Make sure you make your way through the Marketplace into the Havana Bar area. It's kind of hidden and I don't think some people know it's there. It was never crowded in there with plenty of seating. There is also a pasta bar back there that was very good. Guy's burgers were great and so was the burrito and taco bar. Be sure to try both. All in all, the food was excellent. The only time we encountered the "smell" that others have talked about was at our muster station. Other than that it was a non-issue. Didn't have any trouble finding chairs on deck but it was a little crowded. There were extra chairs stacked and tied up, but wasn't really any place to put them. We were always on deck by 9am and always found a place to sit. We went to the shows and the comedy shows. The design of the comedy show is a little confusing, if you get in, and we saw them turn people away because it was full, and you have to sit on the sides, you can't see the stage and have to watch the show on a tv screen. The shows in Liguid Lounge were good especially Epic Rock. It was the last one and we highly recommend you see this one. We were disappointed in the Promenade Deck. We have always enjoyed going up early before dinner and grabbing a seat and people watch. There really is no place for this and the walkway runs right thru the casino. It's not terrible but a little smoky. Our wait staff and room steward were nice and friendly. Not the best we've had but certainly not worth complaining about.

We believe they have tried to put more people on the ship but the ship is still the same size so it is a little more crowded. We decided that Carnival tried to accommodate more people without accommodating the people, if that makes sense. It wouldn't be my first choice if I had one, but I would sail on it again just because we love cruising

Cabin Review

The cabin was good. We don't spend a lot of time in there and there was plenty of room for the 2 of us to get ready each day. Would have liked more shelves in the closet. The shower was good. Seemed bigger than some others. The toilet is at an angle and you will have one foot in the shower while you use it. My biggest complaint was that the bathroom door opens into the bathroom. It always seemed to be in the way. Still not a deal breaker though.
