Ship Facts: Celebrity Summit Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Summit Deck Plans
Great trip!!

We are a couple in our early 40's on our first cruise. We were also on our honeymoon. We were very pleased with everything about our trip. The only negative we might say is the entertainment on board the ship was very average. We might have been expecting a little better entertainment. The aerial acrobats were fantastic, everything else was OK.

We got into San Juan at about 4 p.m. We paid for the transport from airport to cruise line through the ship. It went very smoothly. Boarding the ship was very smooth and easy. We were in an oceanview room on level two. We had wanted a balcony but it was a lot more expensive. We were hoping to upgrade for free but ship was full. Our oceanview room was surprisingly spacious and the window was very large. We had a king size bed which was very comfortable. Plenty of storage, everything was clean and nice, small bathroom but no smaller than we expected. Shower was plenty hot. I also liked that the vanity and plug ins were in the bedroom so someone could be in the bathroom and someone else getting ready in the room.

Food was delicious. We ate buffet most mornings for breakfast. It was very good. If you can't find something to eat there, you are too picky!! We ate at Cosmopolitan one morning for breakfast and it was ok. I though a little slow and I prefer the variety and speed of buffet. We ate at Cosmopolitan one day for lunch and it was delicious, it was only open on the one day at sea. Most days we either ate lunch at buffet or pool side grille. Cosmopolitan was delicious every evening for supper. They are pretty strict on long pants and polo or dress shirt for men and dress or long pants for women. It was nice to dress up for supper every night. Food there in the evenings was phenomenal!!! Our waiter, Reuben, was great. He learned our tastes and preferences and was very informative. On our last night there we even got a special cake with Happy Honeymoon and candles on it. So sweet!!!

Our ports were all great. St. Croix, St. Kitts, Dominica, Grenada and St. Thomas. We got off boat every day and booked off ship excursion. No problems at all with that. St. Croix pulled up right by the beach so we went to beach then to a Caroz Rum tour, very nice. In St. Kitts we went on ATV tour of rainforest. Very nice, well worth the money. In Dominica, Grenada and St. Thomas we went on sightseeing tour every day. Two days we went in open safari vehicle and one day a van. All were with other people. Very interesting and lots of fun. We met lots of interesting people too. Every day we would get done with our excursion about 1 or 2, get back on ship to eat lunch, refill our water bottle, then get back off to do a little shopping. Easy to get on and off ship unless you are wanting to be first to get off and then a long line.

We did not buy a drink package of any sort. We had plenty to drink. Tap water, tea, milk, fruit punch and several different juices were all free. My husband ordered a beer almost every night for supper $5.75 with gratuity. He got to see how much it was every evening and sign a receipt so no surprises.

We wanted to go on a cruise with very few kids since we weren't taking ours. There weren't very many kids and they seemed to be very well behaved. We saw more at our at sea day than any other time. They also had an adult only pool and hot tub which wasn't very busy most of the time. We saw one child in there for about 10 minutes one day. The rest of the time it was peaceful and calm. Pools were salt water, hot tubs were regular water.

It was a fabulous trip and we are ready to cruise again!!
