Our trip began with few mishaps. After arriving at the airport, we met up with HAL's bus transfer reps. They were very helpful. However, the bus driver immediately solicited tips after we were seated on the bus. When we arrived at the dock,he was at the bottom of the steps asking us if we had left a tip which I had. The embarkation lines were long and HAL personnel were hawking soda packages. We finally arrived at the last desk where we were informed that we had been upgraded. We expressed our concern because our luggage tags had our original cabin numbers on them. When we got to our new cabin, we found that it only accommodated two passengers not three. We specifically paid for an outside cabin with a sofa bed because our daughter was travelling with us. After, several trips to the front office the officer in charge, Amber Coomer, resolved the matter by giving us our original cabin.Later, we received a letter of apology and dinner for three at the Pinnacle Grill.Amber was very gracious and helpful. After this there were no other problems. The ship is elegant and beautiful and well maintained. Our cabin was spacious and we had a wonderful steward. The shows/entertainers were among the best I've seen at sea. I've been on over thirty cruises.I really felt though that there could have been more activities at the pool ( the aft pool).

There were no activities there. They should have had a steel band playing at one of the pools too. The evening barbecue at the pool had no music playing and half of the strung lights over the Lido area were out, hardly a festive occasion, probably the dullest barbecue at sea that I've ever attended.I thought the food at the Lido was very good and the dining room was adequate, but not exceptional.Eddie, our waiter was great. The Pinnacle Grill, however, was excellent. We ate there twice with our entire family of seven. The ports we visited and the good weather helped to make this a wonderful trip.Hal's private island Half Moon Cay was absolutely gorgeous. My daughter really enjoyed the horseback riding excursion on the island .We probably took the last tender back to the ship. The Volendam was there also , but it didn't become too crowded. We had a beautiful sail away. Disembarkation was smoother than the embarkation. All in all it was a great trip.We probably would sail HAL again if the ports were as appealing as the ports we just visited. They were St. Maarten. We went to Orient beach.St. Lucia where we took a private tour with Yellow bird (Cosol tours). Martinique, which was too short a stay. Barbados, where we went to The Boatyard.Tortola where we took a catamaran to Norman Island.Great ports and great weather made this trip!
