I had been on a Princess cruise many years ago, and remembered it to be great. Decided to drive to Houston and board for this cruise since we live in Dallas. Very convenient. We arrived and were re-directed to a parking lot across the street from the terminal because they had a "boarding back-up " problem. We sat in the car for an hour and a half before we were allowed in the terminal where we discovered no passengers had been allowed to board. We did not embark on the cruise until three hours later than scheduled. For the first three days we were not allowed to handle any food in the buffet lines, nor get our own drinks, etc. We found out from other passengers that there had been another outbreak of the norovirus on the previous cruise and after 72 hours we would be able to go through the buffet lines normally.

The service throughout the cruise was only fair, as was the food. The cabin cleaning always seemed to lack something...no new drinking glasses, only one bath towel replaced, etc. The entertainment was fairly good, but the "free" seminars were always trying to get you to purchase a product.

There was no jogging track on the ship. Only a deck that was called one, which actually included a portion where you had to use the steps to go one deck up, then back down, which was closed at dusk daily. The main portion of the deck was closed from 5:30 am to 7:00am daily for cleaning. Yes, I know there are treadmills in the fitness center, but I like to walk outside, and this was the first in about 6-8 cruise ships that I have been on that did not accomodate my wish to walk outside. Overall, i will not go on another Princess cruise, there are other lines out there that are far superior, and we will just have to wait till they start sailing out of Houston, or get on a plane.

Cabin Review

Got this room because it had a tub. Not impressed. It was old, and the plumbing fixtures were dirty and I felt like they could easily be pulled off the wall.
