We chose Norwegian because we wanted to sail out of Seattle (had never been there) and because the cruise had a very good itinerary. The Ports of Call were the principal ones everybody talks about and the price for our sixteen member family was reasonable. The ship is a very nice one but it is Free-Style Cruising, which means (Open dining in the general buffet area). We ate there most of the time but it is not what we enjoyed doing. We like a sit-down formal dining experience in a Dining Room. We alternately ate at the Lotus Garden restaurant and at the Sushi Bar/restaurant. The cabins were beautifully decorated and the cabin attendance was very good. The entertainment was as expected: fun! Another [immense] drawback for us on this ship was the [no self-service laundry]! In fact, the website says that no Norwegian Cruise has one. It was a real setback for everyone, especially as we had small children!! We were washing in the sinks at night! Laundry service is too expensive to pay for so many people for everything!!!! Would not take Norwegian Cruises again for this reason and the open dining.
We always love the balcony cabins because of the scenery we can enjoy in the quiet and calmness there. Theirs is as nice as all ships that have verandas/balconies.
