I just returned from a wonderful 7 day Western Caribbean cruise, Jan. 20-27th, on the Star Princess with my best friend. We are both active, fun-loving women in our 50's.

We flew in a day early to Ft. Lauderdale and took the free shuttle to the Comfort Inn on Stirling Road. The hotel is in walking distance to a shopping center and restaurants. We ate at the Moonlight Diner for lunch and dinner. They had a great Grouper sandwich and beer and wine was available. We walked to Kmart and bought pop and wine for the cruise. We enjoyed meeting other cruisers at the Comfort Inn pool and sipped on a Mango Margarita from the bar. The room was not fancy, but was adequate. They had a nice buffet breakfast in the morning and a free shuttle to the port.

Arriving at the port at 11 a.m., we were in our stateroom by 12:15 p.m. The bed was made up with a duvet, but our room steward added a flat sheet (actually another duvet cover without the comforter inside) at my request. Here are my cruise thoughts/comments by category:
