I'll keep it short: Embarkation was quick and easy,
We had a balcony spa cabin on deck 14. It was really nice however, the balcony was quite small. Booking a spa cabin gives you complimentary access to the spa which was very, very nice.
Our room attendant was wonderful and very accommodating.
Room service is poor -not much of a menu at all and a very long wait.
The gym was nice.
Food was just ok. All the free restaurants (and the paid ones) seem to have very similar menus with a few tweaks here and there.
The video arcade room was great, my 5 year old daughter loved it, however, at 1.50 a game, it gets expensive quick.
Too many up charges on NCL.
Splash academy was fantastic. My kid was always eager to go, she loved it and everyone there was always friendly and accommodating.
The breakfast Pajama jam with Dora and co. was horrible at $20.pp. Cold continental breakfast and you had to fetch your own coffee. So not worth it.
The kiddie pool and splash park were nice but way too small.
Only one adult pool and it was also way too small.
Such a big ship, why such small pools?
The 4 hot tubs were nice but always seemed to be pretty crowded.
The water slides and all the outdoor sports were great and a big hit with all the kids. There’s a ton of activities. Rock climbing, minature golf, etc, etc.
The cruise director was engaging and entertaining, but aside from a few people who stood out, the service was just ok.
The entertainment that we did get to see was quite good however, we couldn't get seats to the comedy shows or magic act. Good luck getting seats, unless you booked way in advance.
There definitely should be more complimentary entertainment.
The casino was great.
The ship was really nice and clean, but for a brand new ship, it was really lacking a "wow" factor for me.
Overall, we had a nice time, but with all of NCL's upcharges and the just ok food and service, I'd rather pay a little more upfront and go with RC.
