A nice time on our first cruise!
We have gone on our first time cruise during the March Brake, we had three more couples going so it was time to join the crowd. Now the ship was very nice, the service was good, they offered a beverage/alcohol package which we purchased so that was nice. We were on deck 12 mid-ship in a mini suite it was a nice cabin but every time we would dock to an island there was this never ending bang noise that we could hear early in the morning it woke us up and we are not an early risers but I couldn’t believe how annoying this was.
In the afternoon there is just no hope for lounge chairs, forget it, you have to be one of those people that throws a towel in the morning, there as so many chairs with towels on them some people were in the pool but you would never know which have left for the day as they leave their towels behind because you can do that, you can leave towels anywhere you want and never come back for them.
We did enjoy the piazza, lots of room there and More good music, nice bars with a lot of different drinks to choose from. They had a nice band playing in the afternoon in the piazza and people were always dancing.
In the late evening and early evening too they had great pianist and one would play a piano and sing too and what a great singer he was.
Club 6 could do much better, music there is so repetitive and from a great song he would jump to 70ties songs that are not good always plaid Katy Perry one new song and maybe Rhianna and lots of oldies, what’s up with that, no freestyle and some salsa but only a couple, as young people would be dancing that’s when he would change the music to a really bad one and everyone would leave and to me it looked like he tried so hard to keep people off the dance floor, it was ridiculous, we only liked first night as it was new to us but then it became all the same. As for the service in Club 6 it was excellent, waiters there were really happy and ready to bring you drinks fast, they were hard working awesome people.
I have read many reviews and I agree with many people that International Café is the best, those sandwiches and salads are awesome, sometimes we just didn’t make it to the Horizon buffet no need, we almost did not eat at the Horizon. We have tried Crown Grill and it had good stakes but some of us had still pretty rear stakes so it was sent back. Sabatini was good too with nice people, those appetizers are very small but I fill up on them and then I would get this huge entrée and was able to eat only half of it, too much food.
They take a lot of pictures on this ship so after few days you end up with a lot of photos which they print whether you like it or not and then if you want to buy it’s like $25 each 8x10 photo, there is no package unless you buy a huge poster photo then they give you one 8x10 free (big deal), way too expensive, we bought 5 photos by the end and paid $125 no discount nothing but the photos have already been printed, they waist too much paper, so many other photos that they took were thrown out.
Sanctuary we booked a day before as it can only be booked one day before and we got almost one of the last two lounge chairs and it happened to be on a windy day a bit at the back so it was very windy I had to lay there all covered up as it was cold and then it started raining a bit so we went and sat in the gazebo but later at noon we decided to cancel the afternoon as it was just too windy and not comfortable, the service was okay this one server was slow as if it was his first day on the ship, took him a while to get to us he had to be told my management, I don’t think it was worth it being there and there is no pool in that area, we paid $40 for half a day and if you don’t have a beverage package you have to pay $4 per none alcoholic drink and if you want to order refreshments it is $4 pp. delivery charge, okay not worth it!
Internet room had few computers and there was always a free spot and one time activation of $3.95 had to be paid and then $.79 per minute and on the last day they would offer 15 minutes for $8.99 so people can check their flights. Less
