The reason for the cruise was the 80th birthday of my partner's father. We were total 9 family - Dad, me, my partner, her brother and his wife, their 3 kids (19-25) and a boyfriend. Dad had a wonderful time spending 7 days with family which was the sole purpose of the trip. Now, about the ship.

The staff were excellent in every respect. Stateroom attendant Jean was great, head waiter Egland was fabulous. Casino bartenders and wait staff were also excellent. However Outdoor bar staff seemed to be moving in slo mo.

Food in main dining was generally very good. Speciality restaurants Chopps Grille and Giovanni's table were outstanding.

Quality of the ship overall was great. Very clean, loved the balcony stateroom and the bathroom layout made it seem larger than other ships we have been on.

Down sides - the buffet seemed to serve the same food day after day after day. They need to bring some variety to it.

Disembarkation was a mess. We were late More getting in due to fog, which the cruise line can't help. But like the airlines there was very little information about what was going on. When we finally got off, the customs processing in Galveston was more than hour. It's sad that the last thing we all remember about this trip is the horrendous time getting off the ship and on the road to home. Less
