Having never cruised with NCL before we were unsure what to expect from 'freestyle cruising' and we ended up being very happy with it! The option to dine in either of the 2 complimentry dining rooms is just great, it means you can get ready for the evening in no rush and can plan dinner around when you will actually be hungry (which lets face it is never on a cruise!)
The only downside to this cruise was the main dining room being SO hot and taking SO long to actually dine. Myself and my boyfriend are generally quick eaters and dont take too much time to decide what we want to order. However, the 2 times that we visited the big main dining room it took well over an hour, nearing an hour and a half, to get through the meal; infact, on the second occasion we had waited so long we decided to miss dessert as we couldnt wait any longer. There is however the option to go to a smaller complimentry dining room which can mean that you need to wait for a table but the service here is much better and much faster.
The activities on this cruise were very well run and there seemed to always be something to do for everybody weather it be arts and crafts, sports or trivia. (the sports with Alberto from the cruise staff made our cruise, what a great guy!)
The rooms in general are great and the room stewards are simply amazing (we had a steward called Eric and he was incedible! We ended up with a towel animal zoo and he always had the time to stop and ask us how our day was) We also found that the bathroom was much bigger than we have had on other cruise lines such as princess, p&o and royal carribean.
Overall the ship is in great condition and although as stated the main dining room was a bit of a let down, there were so many dining options that it didnt affect us really.
Will deffinatley be heading for the freestyle cruises again!
