Best Holiday i have ever had!

Sail Date: March 2014
Destination: Australia & New Zealand
Embarkation: Sydney (Australia)

i recently went on the carnival spirit on the 3rd of March to the 12th with my partner. i got a little worried reading some other reviews as some people were pretty negative. but after experiencing it for myself all i can say is those people are just sooks & must be very hard to please.

we left from Sydney & sailed for 2 days to get to Isle of pines, which is the most beautiful island i have ever seen! the beaches were amazing & the water so clear.

FOOD: my food experience on this cruise was perfect, i don't have a single complaint. from breakfast to dinner everything was fresh, hot & plenty of variety. if you didn't like anything from the buffet in la playa grille then you could go to the deli & get a toasted sandwich made to your liking. breakfast was a huge range from cereal to all hot foods & you can get omelettes made to your order! dinner had something new every night & all our wait staff remembered our name which was very personal More and we loved it. every night at around 7 pm the waiters perform for you & you can join in if you want to.

ENTERTAINMENT: entertainment on board was very plentiful & had so much variety, Michael the solo guitarist was our favorite, the nightly shows in the pharaohs lounge were all good as well.

EMBARKING & DISEMBARKING: i have been on a cruise before with p&o and had to wait for hours before we could get on & off board, but with carnival we were on & off the ship within 10-15 minutes.

STAFF: all the staff were fantastic & so friendly. it was also very nice talking to them about the countries they come from (there are over 50 different nationalities), nothing was too hard for them & they even remembered your name & what you like to drink!

PORTS: all of the islands we went to were beautiful, we didn't get off at MARE as you had to pay for a bus transfer to get to the beach, which we thought was a little stupid as the cruise line should provide this from you.

PHOTOS: get as many photos as you can because they come out beautifully! they are very pricey tho, the formal night photos are $30 each, the normal size photos are $14.99, but they're very worth it in the end. a lot of people on here have said that they go cheaper on the last day, which isn't true, the photo shop closes 10 pm the night before we get into Sydney & are the usual prices.

i could rave on about my experience for hours as it was incredible & had no complaints, all in all i will definitely be booking my next holiday with carnival! Less

Cabin review: Carnival Spirit 4684

we were in the middle of the middle on the ship so we didn't feel a single wave which was good! the room is cleaned twice a day and always has a new animal made up from towels which are cute and a nice little touch, i definitely recommend a balcony room so you don't feel to closed in
