Ship Facts: Norwegian Sun Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Norwegian Sun Deck Plans
WASHY WASHY

First off, this was our first cruise on NCL (been on Carnival, Holland America, MSC, Celebrity, Princess) .

EMBARKATION:

We arrived at the port at around 2:30 p.m. There was absolutely NO line and we got on the ship very quickly!

THE BOAT:

We went straight to our rooms as they were ready to go! The rooms looked as if they hadn't been cleaned extremely well. There was dirt and dust throughout the room and the bathroom. We ended up switching rooms because of a miscommunication while booking and our second room was much cleaner!! The boat was not as small as we imagined. It felt as if it had enough space, but was not over crowded by any means. We loved the location of the sports court (basketball, shuffleboard, pingpong, golf net) as it was close to everything and out in the open. We also LOVED the great outdoors, which is located at the back of the boat and features a covered area for eating and relaxing.

FOOD:

The buffet was good and had some nice options and stations (Breakfast: omlette/waffle, Lunch: pasta, Dinner: Crepe). The dining room menu became very repetitive after the first couple days as only one side of the menu changed. The sports bar had delicious wings, popcorn, chips and hot dip etc. The crepe station was DELICIOUS and had a couple different filling options each night (cherry, chocolate, pineapple, cinnamon and sugar, nutella etc.) Sprinkles Ice Cream bar only carried 3 varieties of hard ice cream with a fourth option available on some days, and also carried soft ice cream (but it was really good)!! The self-serve soft ice cream station was great as you could choose how much/how little you wanted. Las Ramblas carried a few appetizers available before dinner for a treat!

ENTERTAINMENT:

Karaoke was a BLAST! The organized sports activities were also great, with multiple tournaments a day! We thought there could have been more pool side activities....The white hot party was fun, and lasted until the wee hours of the morning!

STAFF:

We loved Lester, Hector, Jacob, and especially Smiley!! All of the staff members were extremely friendly!!

Overall, this was a great family cruise and we would definitely sail with NCL again!!
