We took this cruise late February to get away from the weather in the UK. All reviews only give positive or negatives report. 99% take a trip and never write a review. Bad reviews can be off putting, but some nations expect so much more for their money! We chose this as good value for money, and were pleasantly surprised. Its our 4th cruise, and we are still not sold on cruising, only because its generally very reasonable, but then at every opportunity, you pay over the odds and pestered to spend more. You are also locked in with a huge amount of fellow passengers, some of which you would never associate yourselves with! We made our own way to Barcelona, as we went to on to our property in Spain at the end.
On arrival at Barcelona airport I saw an NCL representative, and inquired about the bus to the Port, but it was full. We took a taxi (29€) and more or less walked straight on board. We located our cabin on deck 11, unpacked, and noticed the airport bus just arriving some 45mins later from our balcony!
Yes the cabins are a little small, but quite adequate. The buffet and 2 sit down restaurants are very good, and no reason to shell out extra for the other restaurants ( there is excellent steak on both restaurant menu's along with plenty of other choices, and a menu of the day on the opposing page. Wine is quite expensive, but no more than they other cruise lines we have used (P&O and RCCL) We liked the anytime dining, and usually chose the share, which gives you a table more quickly, but takes longer to take the meal. We only breakfasted once in Windows, which took an age. The buffet from there on. On sea days there's a theme buffet on the rear of the ship on deck 12, which is very good. We enjoyed the shows, and the Champagne Bar for that pre dinner drink, with music, which was great.
Casablanca. Just take the shuttle to the centre. Get off and back on the next so you can say you have been to Casablanca!
Lanzarote: We took the 1/2 day Island trip which was good
Tenerife : Another1/2 day trip round the North of the Island ending up in Pueto de la Cruz. Interesting
Malaga: Took the bus to Marbella. Had a lovely morning
In all, we thought for what we paid, it was very good (still not sold on cruising though!)
