Traveled with children

My husband and I took our two children (age 14 /daughter and son age 13) on this cruise. We were disappointed in the food in particular. The buffet served the same thing over and over. The meat was dry or too greasy, and the healthy options included lettuce or limited fruit. All of us were taking Tums and other antacids all week,. The main dining room was even worse, the service slow and the food over cooked and very little variety to choose from. The desserts (which I don't eat anyway) were terrible according to my husband and children. They all tasted like plastic and dry. (so if you are trying to diet this will be a bonus). My kids ate quite a bit of the soft serve ice cream at the beginning of the trip but even that started to taste really processed.

I must say our room was nice, we had a balcony. Although we bought unlimited soda for the week, we were still charged for the soda in the bar fridge and the bottle water in our state room. It seemed like everywhere you went on the ship the cruiseline was trying to squeeze every dime out of you. We had bought two nice bottles of wine at one of the ports and it was delivered to the ship. We were to receive our bottles the last night on board in our state room. After our room assistant desperately tried to get our bottles both that night and the morning we were leaving , the ship couldn't locate them. They never did give them back to us and told us we would not be getting any kind of refund.

The Roatan; Mahogany Bay stop was the worst and priciest by far. This island (part of the island where they drop you off) is owned by the cruise line, everything there is way over priced. We went to the beach and ordered three sodas and a platter of munchies, the bill was just under a hundred dollars). We had to pay for the lounge chair too. Stay on the boat, and sit by the pool (nothing to see or do there). The only thing better than our room was our room attendant, who I must say looked after us greatly ! You don't get that kind of service in other parts of the ship though, it's hard to find someone at dinner time.

Cabin Review

room was spacious and well looked after by room attendant. The tub does need to be refinished as there is some wear and tear marks on the inside.
