Wonderful and relaxing cruise on Norwegian Breakaway in spite of a li

Sail Date: March 2014
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: New York (Manhattan)

We just returned from our 2nd cruise on Norwegian Breakaway. She's a beautiful ship with so many amenities and choices, it's impossible to take it all in on one cruise. Embarkation is a breeze because we book suites with Haven privileges.

Within 5 minutes of getting on board, we were warmly greeted by half a dozen crew members we'd sailed with before...and continued make new friends from crew and passengers alike.

By way of reference, this was our 27th cruise and 16th with Norwegian...actually 14th in a row on NCL ships. We've been almost all the way around the world on cruises and just love it...with 3 more cruises currently booked.

The Haven is a wonderful place to relax...with a staff that's second to none...we believe NCL has the best crew(s) in the business. Ruth our concierge took excellent care of us...5th cruise with her. Bhisham, the Haven Matre'd was always bright. smiling and cheerful...Carol, Haven bartender remebered our wine preferences from More previous cruises. And, we made new friends with Jennifer, Maria, Amelia, Emargelia,

Antolin, Nyoman, Bruno our cabin steward and Rogin our butler. Super hard working people.

The ships officers were always visable and willing to help. Great to see Mustafa...Food & Beverage Director...again. 5th cruise with him. prem, Hotel Director has a super sense of humor.

We'd seen most of the entertainment on a previous cruise...Burn the Floor not to my taste but my wife loved it, Cirque Jungle show is fascinating...with excellent food and service. This cruise, the magican was weak and Second City is either hit or miss...and they missed again.

Food service in the Haven is excellent...with a different special every night. And after the 1st night, they know your preferences. Le Bistro is our favorite...with escargo, french onion soup and rack of lamb to live for.. LaCucina is on the waterfront with indoor/outdoor seating...with excellent food and service.

Really enjoyed the comfort food in O'Sheehans...fish & chips and chicken pot pie. Sushi and sashimi in Wasabi some of the best anywhere. We didn't eat in main dining room of the buffet this cruise...but have in the past with no issues.

Got off in Orland and rode the bus downtown...tour we wanted didn't make. Liked the improvements NCL has made to their private island...Lot's to do and excellent BBQ ribs. We've been to Atlantis and not much else of interest on Nassau. We prefer staying on board.

All in all, a great cruise experience in spite of some rough seas early Saturday AM on the way back to NYC. We're hooked on Norwegian and would't keep coming back if we didn't like their brand of hospitality. I really don't understand the petty complaints.

Disembarkation a breeze...off the ship by 9:30 and inside LaGuardia by 10:15. coming back to NYC and Breakaway in September. Less
