I wanted to write a review on our Carnival Victory cruise because I had read many negative reviews before we left and I don't understand where all the negative comments come from as we had nothing but positive experiences on our 4 night cruise. First of all we were able to board the ship by 11:30 a.m. after a short wait in the VIP lounge. Rooms weren't quite ready and we were hungry so we headed up to the Lido buffet for lunch. We are a party of 7 and we were lucky to get a call and were offered an upgrade prior to our cruise. We were offered 2 ocean view suites next door to one another with a large extended balcony.

I had never had a balcony room before and the suites gave us even more room. When we got to our rooms we were pleasantly surprised. We had 4 in our room and next door the other 3 kids had a suite too. We all loved our rooms and bathrooms with a large shower/tub. We enjoyed all being on the balcony together and seeing the ocean views. Our room steward opened the door to the balcony so that we could all share in one large balcony expanding between the 2 rooms next to one another. I would highly recommend a balcony suite or a balcony room. I loved the option of escaping to the balcony for fresh air and great ocean views.

We loved both ports of call. Our first stop was Key West and we all fell in love with this quaint town. Shopping was great and the 3 kids got to parasail together. We didn't book through the cruise ship, but went with a vendor who was in town at a booth. All 3 kids went together for $110 total. This was with ParaWest company. Great experience. If we had more time in port we would have done more excurstions and we all would love to return to Key West. Our next port was Cozumel and we all decided to get off the ship and jump in a large van taxi and head to Mr. Sanchos beach resort. Again, we didn't book through Carnival, but went ourselves for a $34 van ride and you just pay when you get to mr. sanchos. We did the all inclusive day and we had all we wanted to eat and drink while enjoying several hours on the gorgeous beach and ocean at Mr. Sanchos. Our last day of the cruise was a day at sea and we enjoyed our time by pool in the back of the ship. We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere back here by the pool vs. the noisy area by the large outdoor tv screen. It is a bit hard to find chairs on at sea day and they frown on putting towels out early.

Ocean Suite

Cabin OS

We had rooms 7263 and 7265 next to one another and we loved that we could open the door on the balcony and share one long balcony with one another. This was awesome. Our suite had ample room and I loved the large tub/shower in the bathroom. We had a king size bed and a sofa bed with a roll away bed too. Plenty of room for the 4 of us. The roll away bed was the least comfortable though and it sagged in the middle. I felt bad for our son as he had to sleep on a sagging bed for 4 nights as we all had more comfortable sleeping arrangments. He never complained though, but perhaps for the 4th person in a ocean suite they could have better sleeping arrangements with comfort in mind!
