Review of Caribbean Princess From Houston

Sail Date: March 2014
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Houston

Just returned from 7 Day/6 night Caribbean Princess From Houston to Cozumel, Roatan Island - Honduras, & Belize.

Overall fun trip. The ship is somewhat older…with wear showing at the seams, but overall good food and good service. I've had more fun on Carnival…its geared toward a younger crowd and would recommend them if you have children as they have better/more outdoor things on the boat such as putt/putt, slides, better basketball court, running track, etc. This ship had more pool and larger pools than on Carnival.

As far as the excursions go:

Cozumel - worst of all the 3 stops. Snorkeling was poor…..no corral…no fish….but beach after was fun.

Roatan - snorkeling was the 2nd best of the 3 stops. We did the BOSS underwater scooter. It was expensive and not worth the price. The scooters were slow, the helmet constantly fogged up, and you had to press a button the entire time with your thumb to get the scooter More to go…..which caused hand cramps after a while. The scooters are tied to a floating buoy…so you only go 8 ft deep. Snokeling was better and much more enjoyable. BTW, the ship pulls up to a dock in Roatan called Mahogany Bay…which has a great shopping and beach area right there if you just want to get off the ship and get into the water.

Belize - We didn't go to the mainland….just did a deluxe snorkeling trip. This was the cheapest of all the excursions we did and the most fun. The reefs were great….saw lots of fish and guides would dive and bring up things for the group to touch and see. Less
