Sail Date: Jan 2014

We have cruised with Celebrity since it was Chandris (almost 30 years ago) recent trips have been aboard Solstice class ships, and we had not been aboard this class ship since 2003. We decided to give this itinerary and ship a try, and were very surprised by how nice the ship experience turned out to be. We would definitely consider sailing this ship again, especially in AquaClass.

We flew into SJU arriving around 11:00. The taxi to the ship was only $23 USD including charges for 2 bags. Took about 20 minutes, although we had to help the driver out by directing him to the correct ship.

Check-in and boarding was a snap. Cabin was pretty nice. This A-2 cabin sat just under the overhang for the pool deck. Good in that no rain came in, but less than ideal in that you did have this overhang above you the entire time cutting off part of your view and blocking out the sun (which some would think was great). The rooms have been through rehab, but you can still see the painted over rust in the bath rooms; still, pretty good shape.

Cabin Review

Shower, while nice having the shower bar for AQ class, would leak all over the floor during use. Rust showed through paint in bathroom. Also, no drawers at the vanity (just shelves behind doors, so had to keep personal items in their travel bags and stored them on the shelves). Otherwise a nice room. Next door cabin have an angled, oversize balcony that would overlook our balcony. Not a problem for us as we made acquaintances with the folks in this cabin, but could affect your privacy if you wanted seclusion.
