We have just return from 7 nights cruise, overall very good, except a 5 star should mean no flaws.
We had booked a balcony room aproximatly 4 weeks in advance, as the cruise was approching, we decided to book(and Pay) for a mini suite on gty booking. Apx 1 week before i sent a e mail requesting a upgrade in the spa balcony room which was in price the next level we paid for.
We were not upgraded.
Check in at the Miami took only a couple of minutes, we went to our room at apx 1;30 pm, the mini suite are ok, their was no robes, called in and got them later that night.
We have purchased the beverage package witch i think for us it was great with unlimited wine by the glass for diner.
We had prebook the Circus in the premium seating, according to the website, it garantees a beter location in the restaurant, when we arrived, there was no premium seating for us, they have let the other section pass before us, and we ended up upsatair and the other group right on the stage, do not pay the 10.00 extra per person, not Worth it,
Ou room steward was nice, we never had a animal towel or any extra but he was polite. overall the staff is nice but they seem tired, not happy, tip or no tip no difference.
Buffet outside during day time is almost always the same, no variation, very basic for a 5 star.
We paid extra for la cucina, circus and the steak house, all woth it, the lagagna at Cucina was EXCELLENT. We never ran out of chair around the decks, For some mysterious reason Apple can't explain, my IPHONE went banana on the cruise because of the Wi-Fi,???? and i lost everything.
We got out the ship at all the ports, and it went very well all the time.
We travel apx 3-4 time a year, and we had cruise with NCL before on the pearl, With all the new ships from all the cruise company, NCL should make sure that every guest on a 5 star ship leave very happy and are WOWED, they missed the boat with us. but it was still good.
