We have never had a bad cruise but we expected better then OK.
The ship is generally in good shape, and the staff were almost all kind and courteous. We took part in 3 Roll Call events including the M&G, slot pull and cabin crawl and got to see 2 types of suites .Nice but even these are dated.
We took an Aqua Class cabin, 9116, which was in a great location. We heard no noise. The cabin stewards were fine and helpful with all being kept clean. The cabin itself is a bit dated and frayed. The bathroom door would barely close and the balcony door was so stiff it took all our efforts to get back in.
Blu was a disappointment. Faux healthy food in a sterile setting. Several of the waiters were unfriendly. My DW thought it wasn't that bad but I would have preferred the MDR. We had to wait to get in the first 2 nights so we ended up arriving at 8 the last 3 nights. The MDR menu didn't look all that great either. Breakfast service was slow but the food was good.
We received the drink package and didn't upgrade. It was great but if it wasn't included I don’t think we would pay for it. We might get the non-alcohol package next time as we really enjoyed Café Baccio’s drinks. This became our favorite hangout. The Oceanview Café (buffet) was good with lots of options which were well presented. The ice cream was great.
Entertainment was adequate. The CD was a pretty good host and hilarious in his morning show with Mark the activity manager. J C (the CD) is off after this cruise. Comedian James Stephens lll and Derek Lewis who had a karaoke/sing-along show were fine.
Cozumel was fun. We walked to the Money Bar after our pre-booked excursion was altered by Celebrity. The departure time was changed to 2 hours earlier so we bowed out. We ended up snorkeling exactly where the cruise ship excursions went, just off-shore from the Money Bar. Chicken nachos and cold beer were A+.
We also enjoyed Key West . We walked to Fort Zachary Taylor State Park. ($2.50 entrance fee) We sat on the beach after exploring the fort. After the park we enjoyed strolling through the very touristy but very entertaining town.
We had a few small issues on-board including a hassle getting my own money I had previously deposited as OBC, back in cash. They no longer serve lobster it seems for 5 day cruises. Toiletries were pathetic. Our steward said that starting on the next cruise there will be a new brand of toiletries. Most of the AQ benefits were poor such as dollar store sandals.
All in all a good but not great cruise. Add this to the changes to the X loyalty plan and we are now open (again) to all cruise options. We greatly preferred our Summit cruise. Everything was just that much better.
