Celebrity does it right
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: San Juan
This is our 6 th cruise overall but first with celebrity. They really set the standard for mass market cruises.
Embarkation was a breeze. Maybe 5 minutes in line and we were on board. The ship is classy and beautiful. It is easy to get around on any deck and the signs are well placed and easy to read. The public areas are elegant and understated. Every crew member we met was friendly and helpful. We had an inside cabin on deck 7- mid ship. The cabin design was very good. Lots of storage- they make the most of the limited space that you have.
Food. The food was very good. The buffet for breakfast and lunch was delicious. I especially liked the fresh waffles and pancakes- then it was out to the open air deck on the stern for breakfast outdoors. Dinner in the main dining room was good. ( nothing spectacular- but overall very good main dining room cruise food). The waiters worked very hard keeping us happy.
Entertainment was ok. The shows in the main theater More were good- the 2 performers from Romania who did Cirque du soleil type performances were outstanding. My only criticism is that on other cruise lines there have always been late night comedy shows in one of the lounges. Celebrity did not have that- It was a bit sedate at night.
Ports. This is a port intensive cruise with one sea day. That was fine with us. All of the islands were beautiful. St Thomas, St Martin, Antigua, Barbados, St Lucia, gerat choices. Less
