I recently returned from a Cruise on the Costa Luminosa.
The good news:
-The ship is beautiful and well maintained
-Cleanliness is a priority
-Cabins are a good size ( we had a balcony)
-All inclusive beverage package (liquor portion) is a good value for the money (except for the fact that they requires both parties in the cabin to purchase )
The bad news:
-Other than a few exceptions ( like our cabin attendant and our dinner wait staff) the crew is extremely rude!!
-Customer service is not a priority, I was constantly made to feel that I was bothering them
-Disembarkation process was a disaster! We almost missed our plane, due to inaccurate information provided by the crew, but nobody cared. Their priority was to get the people off the ship who booked excursions that day, instead of allowing travelers who had to make flights off first.
-After 10pm, only hot food available on buffet, was pizza
-Strict buffet hrs. Limited food options between breakfast/lunch and dinner
-All-inclusive beverage package, doesn't include bottled water. Water available on deck taste terrible, therefore you have to order a glass of water from the bar service staff every time or you had to purchase an additional bottled water beverage package.
-Although bar service staff is visible, their service is poor. They hang around the bar and wait for you to come and get your own drinks. Min. service on the lido deck
-I broke a nail while the ship and was charged $19 by the nail tech for the repair
- very small casino
Needless to say this was my last Costa Cruise!!
