This was the first cruise for my husband and I. There was 12 people in our group. We were supposed to leave port at 4:00 but didn't leave until 8:30 p.m. There was something broken with the fresh water system and they wouldn't let us leave port until it was fixed. The staff on board for the most part were excellent. Our cabin steward checked on things several times a day and helped us with anything we needed.
The food left something to be desired. There was an okay variety, but the taste was just ordinary. I had several steaks during the sit down dinner but they were usually dry and tougher. The waiter never asked us if we wanted anything to drink besides water. The plates were always quickly cleared when we were finished and our water glasses were refilled promptly.
The room wasn't bad (although the ceiling squeaked when the ship was at full speed), The shower flooded each time we used it. The bedding was ultra soft.
We loved the photography staff. They were always taking your pictures or setting up opportunities for pictures - they were friendly and fun to work with. The pictures themselves were over priced but turned out nice. Would have been nice if they had offered different size options.
Always felt rushed when we were off the ship - like we were always hurrying to get back to the ship. Booked excursions through the cruise and they left something to be desired.
Overall not a bad first experience. We would try a cruise with Carnival again.
