Ruby Princess Cruise Review by wwschham: Very Nice Ship

Very Nice Ship
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)
We sailed in January 2014 for 2 5 day cruises back to back. One to Eastern Carribbean and the 2nd to Western.....We had sailed previously on the Emerald Princess and enjoyed that ship immensely and knew that the Ruby would be the same type of layout.
Embarkation was a breeze and did not take long at all...The only hiccup we had was the transfer from the Hotel to the pier, as they apparently forgot about us and our Princess Rep had to call to get the bus to come and get us.
Once on board, we made our way to our room, and found our luggage inside our room already, and we were promptly greeted by our room steward (Marian) who went over important issues with us. He took care of us and the room throughout the 2 cruises wonderfully.
Food on board was fantastic. We choose the anytime dining and had a great time sampling a lot of different dishes.
We are Ballroom Dancers and were happy to see, that they had given us some dance time between 5pm and 8pm in More Club Fusion, even with canned music, we enjoyed it thoroughly. We were disappointed with Sea Days where they made our practice time disappear, and only had a dance lesson (for Beginners) and there was no practice time after the lesson...
Sea days were a little boring at times. I attended a seminar for Good Feet, however did not realize it was just a sales pitch to sell us Good Feet insoles. We did enjoy attending some of the sales on board and picked up some watches and T Shirts....
Theatre shows were excellent and we enjoyed some of the bands in the Explorers Lounge.
Ship staff were always helpful and courteous....
We enjoyed using the pools on the ship, as well as the adult only areas at the rear of the ship...
We were a little disappointed with when first getting on board, and throughout the cruise, we were always asked if we wanted a drink, from staff carrying around drinks, but they always had the pads at the ready to charge it to your room card, so we learned to first ask if the drink was no charge.....
Pizza and Ice Cream on board were great when you needed a extra treat.... Less

Cabin review: P212
We were not impressed with the fact that our stateroom had 2 more fold down beds in the wall. This made a small room very much smaller, as we could not even stand beside the bed. We had not been told about this fact, that our room was for 4 people. Personally I cant imagine living in this space with 4 persons. Other than that, we do not mind the size of the room. This particular stateroom was a bit noisy. We did not hear anything from the laundry room next door, however the Theatre above, provided lots of noise during show time, as well as when the Front docking propellers were activated, there was a bit more noise and vibration.
Port and Shore Excursions
We went on a Power Snorkel Tour at Grand Turk, and this was a wonderful experience. We had excellent guides, who were very helpful and also concerned with safety....All in all, a delightful experience.
