Sail Date: Feb 2014

we have cruised on marco polo a couple of years ago,the cruise standard was very good, this time we found that the service in the bistro was way below the standard we expected, some of the staff were downright surly and rude, the tea and coffee stations were never replenished properly despite bringing this to the attention of supervisory staff the standard did not improve, the cabin staff were good but overall the crew were lacking interest. The ship is showing signs of age and despite the seas not being particulary rough we had a couple of very uncomfortable nights. Some of the ports of call we made seemed to be more for the sake of excursions as there wasn't much else to do there, the excursions were also horrendously expensive even by norway standards. A train journey on the ofoten railway costs £75 but the same journey independantly was £18,all in all not a very favourable return for the ship that we enjoyed last time,we certainly will not be going again on the basis of this trip
