This was my second time on The Legend, the first time was when she was launched in 2002 (2003??)
I am in the travel industry and took 8 other friends and family (some first timers)members. I was a little wary of this ship and cruise line (usually gravitate to Princess, HAL or RCL) but we could not beat the price and shipboard credits that were offered.I
-Embarkation was delayed due to the ship coming in late (fog...apparently common in February). As we got to the port early, we were able to check in our luggage and they gave us a queses card to bypass the line when we came back...so glad we did. To kill time we could step over the curb the Florida Aquarium or walk down the street to sit and have some food and drink...FYI Book your return flight later in the afternoon due to the chance of fog and missing your flight...this gave me a very nervous stomach for the whole week as I knew we had a 11:30 am flight on our return!
-Surprised that the median age on our ship was about 65...very few children (not sooo bad).
-Ship was "refreshed" a few sailings prior to ours
- Food was good and the service was pleasant. Enjoyed that we were not constantly bugged to buy alcohol.
-Try the new "drop" slide at the back of the ship...what a hoot!
-Was disappointed in the "family friendly" comedy show. We are not prudes, but one of our guests works with children with disabilities and we could not believe the what came out of this guy's mouth towards this disadvantaged group. We would have walked out if we weren't second row from the front.
-This itinerary tends to be a very smooth sailing--good for first timers
-Disembarkation..we had to do the immigration clearance in the main theatre. After that, when the ship was cleared,(despite the written notices that Canadians cannot do SELF ASSIST disembarkation...we can!) we got off the ship quite quickly
-Transfer to airport...I used ONE Transportation (booked ahead for $10pp)..they were prompt and courteous. When you get out of the cruise terminal, cross the street (yellow building frontage) and turn right down the sidewalk to the end where there is an opening for the parking garage. There you will find the various transfer buses (other than the Carnival transfer buses)
