My wife and parents went on this cruise. We left Fort Lauderdale with ease. The embarkation was really smooth, left the hotel around 11:30 got to port after dropping others off at different ships around 12 ish. Went right in with not a long wait to check boarding pass. The longest line was security check. After getting searched we made it to the check-in desk and walked right onto the ship.
Welcomed by staff and were told we could drop our things off at our rooms with no problems. We then meet up at the Fish & Chips above the Lido Buffet. The fish was a tad bit greasy but had good flavor. Visited the Spa for the tour and of course booked some visits. Went back for Spa raffle but did not win anything.
The ship shows age but is still in good shape and very clean. In April it is going to dry dock for some updates for a few weeks before returning to cruising.
We had a couple sea days to begin the trip which was very relaxing. There was a lot of events going on throughout the ship.
First stop was St. Thomas which was a great port. Very good shopping and site seeing. People were friendly and welcoming. Some beautiful views around the island and some good history.
Second was Antigua and we just walked around the town of St. John and took in the local vibe. Ate at a local place called Roti King which was great food.
Third stop was Tortola which we took an excursion over to Virgin Gorda to visit the Baths. It was a great visit and very beautiful views and beaches. The hike down was not to bad but not for all since it is down hill and rocky. The hike over to Devil's bay was very fun and interesting through all the boulders.
The last visit after another sea day was Nassau. I am not a huge fan of this port unless you visit Atlantis which is the BIG attraction and over priced in my mind. The shopping isn't the best and the people are a little pushy. We visited Senor Frog's for the people watching and party. It is over priced like all tourist attraction restaurants.
The food at the Lido buffet was not impressive to me. it was repeats through out the week. The Chic restaurant food and service was great. The have the normal prime rib, lobster, shrimp, chicken, etc but the dishes were great. The entertainment was fun as well while dining. The deli, tandor, off the grill, and pizza is always a popular visit.
The shows were better than the last cruise I was on last year. The entertainment staff was friendly and did a great job.
The cruise was fantastic for relaxation and site seeing.
