Ship Facts: Carnival Fascination Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Fascination Deck Plans
First Cruise - Enjoyable, easy vacation

We began our journey on our first cruise from Jaxport on the Carnival Fascination for a 4 night trip that docked in Freeport and Nassau, Bahamas. We purchases the faster to the fun package, but embarkation was so easy and quick....and based on the group of people at the port when we arrived, the package really didn't help AND since we were only going to Freeport and Nassau, we didn't need to priority tender since they both dock in the ports. So at least for this cruise, we wouldn't purchase it again.

Transfer from the airport to the cruise port is 20$ per person via carnival or around $40 for a taxi.

Food was pretty good. I wouldn't say it was excellent, but for the cost of the vacation, it was easy and good.

There were plenty of activities on the cruise if that's what you are looking for, or there was plenty of down time as well for relaxing in the sun.

The gym and spa are very nice. I am in the gym quite often when i'm not on vacation so it was nice to have those amenities on board.

Freeport was pretty much what others have said on some of these reviews. The excursions through the company are very expensive so we chose to grab a cab and had them take us to junkanoo beach (part of taino beach. Taxi was $7 each way and the group on the beach was renting chairs for $5 a piece. This also got you access to use the cayaks and they also had a bar, bathrooms, and wifi. This saved us a bunch of money and we got exactly what we were looking for.

In Nassau we essentially did the same thing. We were only looking for beach time since the other excursions were so expensive. We had a taxi for $4 per person each way take use to the cabbage beach near the Atlantis resort on paradise island. You can also do some shopping in Nassau and in generall spend far less money than on the excursions.

The trip back was a bit rocky with some rough seas for most of the day. Other than that, there were plenty of things going on and plenty of time to just relax.

The debarkation process was pretty easy as well. it was very organized and we got off the ship quickly and to our airport transfer. This boat wasn't their nicest or newest boat, but it was very budget friendly and we would do it again. Overall it was a very nice break from the the stresses of work and the cold, snowy weather back home. The rooms were nice, staff was nice, food was good, and we didn't have to worry about planning anything. Overall a great experience.
