Just returned from a cruise on the Breakaway. It is tastefully decorated with muted colors and just enough glitz that it isn't tacky. We stayed in a mid ship mini suite. It was spacious with the best bathroom I've ever seen at sea. Multi jetted shower, double sink, really nice. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet at night, which for a light sleeper like me is always a bonus.

We ate at the complimentary restaurants mostly, experiencing good service and tasty meals for the most part. The sushi bar was good and we also had dinner with the Cirque show, which was a very nicely cooked steak. The desserts were lackluster and I was very disappointed with Carlos bakery. I had a red velvet cupcake, which was dry and tasted prefrozen. My friend had a cheesecake and a cannoli, both of which tasted pre frozen. Not so sure Buddy should be putting his name to this stuff as it really was not good !

The entertainment was mediocre, but it depends what you like to do. If you like the sensory overload of Royal Caribbean shows, then this is not for you. The Cirque show is marvelous but you have to pay for it. My 5 year old daughter was enthralled and as she sat next to the stage she got plenty of attention from the performers. If you like to watch fellow guests horsing around and are able to amuse yourself with board games etc then it's the cruise for you. The broadway shows are good, but there are only 2 which leaves many nights of aimless wandering to find something to do. The magician was young and not original and the comedy shows from the Second City were somewhat entertaining but not long enough to sate you for the night. We did a lot of the kids shows including the pajama jam, which you have to pay for. The food is atrocious considering you pay for breakfast, but the kids love dancing and getting their picture taken with Dora and Spongebob. I also discovered by accident that you get one free photo from the breakfast at the photo shop.
