Completely Spoiled by Oasis of the Seas
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)
Pre-cruise: My husband and I took a flight into Fort Lauderdale the day before the cruise because of the risk of bad weather. We stayed at the Hampton Inn on Stirling Rd on Friday night. It turned out to be an excellent choice! The staff was friendly, the grounds and room were well kept, and the price was reasonable. We had dinner at Billy's Stone Crab. It was absolutely delicious and the service top notch. After dinner we walked over to the Hollywood Broadwalk. It was a perfect evening!!
Boarding: We boarded the ship at 12 noon. It took about 10 minutes to enter the ship. BY FAR, the smoothest boarding process we even encountered.
Room: Our room was a balcony room on the 8th deck starboard aft. The size of the room was perfect for two people. It was very easy to feel organized. The luggage slipped easily under the bed. We always bring a shoe holder to place on the inside of the bathroom door to organize toiletries. We were glad to pack a power strip to allow for the More charging of our electronic devices. Barry was our cabin attendant. Absolutely EXCELLENT service!! Very friendly- as was each and every member of the staff!!
Dining: We choose my time dining for it's flexibility. Our waiter was Ismael V. - WOW!!! Fabulous service night after night. Professional with a personal touch! Aleksandar Z. was his assistant. Every night they worked very hard to provide top notch service- a "10"!! We enjoyed Aleksandar's sense of humor too!! It made the whole dining experience enjoyable to say the least!! Collins was our wine steward. Again, unbeatable service! Every dish was delicious and the serving size was just perfect too! For breakfast (and sometimes lunch) we ate at the solarium and were very satisfied!
Amenities: Our favorite spot to relax was Central Park. Any time of day it proved to be a quiet and relaxing.
We also spent a lot of time on the pool deck. On sea days it can be quite busy but you could still find a place in the sun or shade, but maybe not right next to the pool.
Oasis of the Seas has spoiled us and we are very grateful for the extraordinary service that we received. It was very much appreciated! Less
