The ship is ok but not our favorite. The design is not that good. Because they want so many rooms. they give up on amenities some. Not much retail space. Start with the gym. It is in front like others, but they put the treadmills on the side and your view is a blind and the floor. If you want to see out you have to bend down. They put ski machines (which few use) in front with the view. There are only a few gym type machines. The gym is also cut up so you only see part of it at a time. I know folks don't go there to work out but some of us do while we are there. Our room was good for inside and the room staff was great. We were on 9 and just below the Gathering Buffet. Speaking of which, the food was just adequate there and the coffee is terrible in the morning. (Bitter and strong) On RC ships they have different food at each line, but here it is all the same and not very good at all. The only thing good were the eggs cooked to order. Bacon was very greasy and other things just did not have much taste. The only other good things were the WOK but you had to wait in line for it. Also, on Friday we went upstairs to the Pasta House and it is GREAT. So much better. Overall, I would way Dream has the worst buffet we have had anywhere.( Also, I have to say the pizza is the best on any ship.) Maybe, you should eat it instead of the buffet. Also,, the dining room was very good. (Not the best) Usually the food was better than the Gathering but it takes a long time in the dining room. (At least one and a half hours) The staff was very good! The ship itself is cut up but easy to find your way. For this big a ship there were not many lines. (A few once in awhile) The entertainment was poor. (From the single acts all over the ship to the Encore.) The dancers were good but the lead singers were not that good. The lead girl singer is loud for sure and the male needs another male lead to break it up. They have much better entertainment on RC overall. The Entertainment Director (Henney) tries his heart out but is not a natural. (But few are) He is likeable. They have many people taking pictures everywhere. The are the worst photo people I have seen and will not listen to you so don't waste your breath. They think they know everything and take terrible pictures in my opinion. We finally bought one out of many. (By the way photo people, men putting their thumb on their chin is not natural and why would married people want a single pose?) Where did these people learn? The out door things were good. It is the first ship with enough chairs! Parking was very expensive! I think $120 or $140 in the garage. Yea, we paid to be close but seriously that is way too much. We will not sail out of Canaveral again. Getting on the ship and getting off was easy. The only line was getting off and that is because the government is involved. We met lots of very nice people on the ship from everywhere! Our agent said we would get a $50 on board credit (VA) but Carnival did NOT honor it. They said we had booked less than 30 days prior and it was not valid. This may be our agents mistake and we will get to the bottom of it this week. Maybe it is better to deal directly with the ship line since agents don't really care or know that much. Overall, I would give this ship a 5 out of ten when you compare it to other lines and ships. Sorry, but that is the way it is. In spite of our gripes, we had a good time. Don and Karen
