Great 2 family cruise

Sail Date: January 2014
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

First time on the Equinox... Relatively impressed with everything. There were 12 people on this cruise so not always easy to keep everyone happy. That being said, this was an enjoyable trip for all involved.

Spent 2 days in Fort Lauderdale( pre-cruise) at the Courtyard Marriot, great location, not far from the Cruiseship terminal. Our 2nd time staying there. Ocean view suite, close to lots of bars, restaurants.

Embarkation was easy, once on board we were approached by a waiter from the Tuscan restaurant who signed us up for a dinner reservation that night. We had a wonderful meal, the food was outstanding ! This was a fine way to start our cruise. We were pleased with the food at all the eateries, most everything at the main dining room was good, the service was also excellent. One of the wine servers remembered us on our second time to the MDR, including our wine choices. She kindly left the bottles of wine at the table for us to drink at our pleasure.

The More entertainment was decent enough , some pretty funny comedians, and enjoyable shows in the main theatre .

One our favorite spots was the Sunset bar at the aft part of the ship. It was our main meeting place for happy hour and we spent a fair amount of time there after returning from excursions or just to hang out on sea days.

Service on the ship was excellent overall. Our room attendant had our schedule figured out quickly and was never in the way and did a wonderful job.

Our cabin was a balcony state room which was fine for our needs. Pretty well the same layout as the Oasis stateroom, served our needs well.

The one thing we found that was much different than our first cruise( Oasis of the seas) was the age of the other guests. We were on the young side comparitively speaking, and we are in our 50's ! This didn't detract from our cruise enjoyment, but we were kind of surprised at the age difference.

We did 5 stops over the 10 days, so we got to see some different islands that we didn't see on our previous 7 day cruise to the eastern carribean. We did the usual assortment of shopping, catamaran tours, and beach

days. Great weather, fun times had by all.

I would recommend this ship for its service, food and entertainment. Lots of laughs and good memories for sure ! Less

Functional stateroom which was basically the same layout as The Oasis of the Seas. Comfortable bed, no complaints at all
