RCL - Rhapsody of the Seas - Western Caribbean - January 2003

We spent the first day flying from Portland Oregon to Houston Texas and then were bussed to the port in Galveston. The bus ride was entertaining and the bus driver should have been paid extra for all of the information he provided about the Houston/Galveston area. We paid him a big tip which was well deserved.

We boarded the ship easily at 4 pm and headed to our cabin. Though the rain was falling and it was 40 degrees outside we decided to walk around and get a feel for the ship before it set sail a bit after 5. Since we were tired from the day of travel we rested before dinner at 8:30. It was a wonderful time meeting our tablemates, mostly who were Texans. Another couple from Iowa were the only non-Texans in a table of 10.
