Fabulous Second Windstar Cruise

Sail Date: February 2014
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: St. Maarten

Once again, Windstar out does itself! This time aboard the Wind Surf with another couple (their first). We opted for the beverage package, it suits our needs. We didn't do any excursions since we had been to all the ports previously. We used the spa services, which were very good. We toured the galley and the engine room. We did a vow renewal ceremony, which was incredible! But, the best part of the cruise was Captain Harris and his amazing crew. One crew member, Ace, remembered us from our cruise 3 years ago. We were greeted each day by name and a wonderful smile, had many interesting conversations and just enjoyed their company.

Our cabin, 222, was located pretty close to the disembarkation area at most ports. It really didn't both us much, except passengers standing in our way when trying to get to and from our room. The passengers on this cruise were about the same age group as the last cruise, but pretty quiet and to themselves (except for a few). While we loved the Wind More Surf, I think we like the small Wind Spirit better. Just liked the layout of the ship and the smaller group better.

Will we cruise Windstar again, Absolutely! It may be another 2-3 years, but we will be back!! Less

Cabin review: Wind Surf 222

The new layout is much better I think, but I missed the small table that popped up before. Location was fine, but close to disembarkation area. It was relatively smooth sailing, except for one night. My nephew and wife chose a suite, which was nice, but not necessary for us.

Port and Shore Excursions

We flew into St. Maarten 2 days prior and stayed at Holland House Beach Hotel. Excellent location for the port. Older hotel that has been redone. Lots of shopping and bars/restaurants close by. Would stay here again.
