Great Cruise! Great Price! Will Do Again!

Sail Date: February 2014
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Baltimore

This ship was great. Love the Serenity Deck. No Kids. only thing i can think of that someone might complain about is that the waterslide is right there above the serenity deck so you can hear kids. the Important thing about this Ship is the covered pool. Coming out of Baltimore it can be chilly this time of year so the covered pool is great if you wanna head start on that.

i dont want to say too much about this ship because it will be going through all the 2.0 renovations and it will be an even better ship.

Love this room. We got a great deal on this room. Very little change in price compared to an actual inside room and its the same size as a balcony room. IF you want to book this room and really dont want too much of an obstructed view ask if you can have a room between two lifeboats so that you can see out the french doors. Having natural light in the room was soo awesome. and fresh air was great too. the only thing is the corner of the bed is in the way if you More want to open the door so you just have to move the bed a little. another thing is the outside of the doors have salt on them because of the salty sea air so just be careful when you open the doors. i will be getting this room on my next cruise again.

I hope they put more or a bigger hot tub in the Serenity deck though.

the first two days were sea days and they had tons of entertainment. Kirk the cruise director was soooo great and funny. All the staff were great except this haley girl. she was soooo bad and annoying and not funny.

crew is always great and fun and caring. Food is soooo good.

Port and Shore Excursions

Day1:
We drove to Baltimore from Canada on Saturday and checked into room 311 at The Biltmore Suites. They offered cruise parking for $3 a night but I will get to that in a second. We checked in and went up to our room and it was huge. It was definitely a suite and we only paid $79 for the night. Big room with a living area attached and separated by the bathroom. Mind you it is a very old mansion and is falling apart but the service was great. its in a safe neighborhood. The most important thing was that the bed was comfy and the bathroom all worked. It also had a double sized mini fridge, coffeemaker and microwave. They use the Maryland Hospital Parkade to allow people to stay parked while they go on a cruise. people who stay at the Biltmore get a discount. Since it is free on weekends and we arrived on a weekend and left on the weekend, we never had to pay for parking at all because the gates were up both times so we couldn't even get a parking ticket to get validated.
After we checked into the hotel we went to the National Mall in Washington for a few hours. My only advice to you is make sure you know how to get back out of Washington. Worst driving experience ever. No signs telling you how to get back onto the highway.

everyone says bad things about freeport and i loved it. there really isnt much there except shopping in lucaya but we just stayed in the port and went to the straw market there and bought a few things and then went to senor frogs and hung out and then went back onto the ship and layed by the pool.

Nassau is sooo nice. we just walked around atlantis and then went to the public beach at beach towers. we were offered a coconut for $20 with unlimited alcoholic refills. needless to say we didnt have to drink anymore that night.

Cocoa Beach

we just went to the beach after stopping at ron jons and it is a huge store but it was nice to see even though i didnt buy anything. everything is really expensive. we went across the street and got cheap souvenirs and bathing suits.

Kennedy Space Center

First we Went to Kennedy Space Center. We booked our tickets off a website for half the price that the cruise was offering. Keep in mind that to get to the space center on your own the best way is to rent a car for $50. if not the taxi is $50 there and $50 back. We ended up getting a really great guy who took us to town to exchange canadian money first and then to the space center and never charged us to go into town. he dropped us off and we picked a time to get picked up and the he took us to cocoa beach for no extra charge either.

The Space center was great. if you want to do everything i would suggest spending the whole day there. we didnt watch the imax movies which are 2 x 40 mins. and all we did was the tour and atlantis experience which took about 3 1/2 to 4 hours.

great time. I would go again.
