The Road to Mandalay is an extremely comfortable and attractive small river cruise boat.
We spent 3 nights on board, cruising from Mandalay to Bagan on the Irawaddy River.
The cabin was modern and very comfortable. Food was excellent overall, with more European than Asian dishes. Almost all were delicious, but one lunch buffet was disappointingly ordinary.
The staff were extremely welcoming and hospitable.
This experience is more of a floating hotel than a cruise, as only one day is spent cruising--the rest are spent moored in Mandalay and Bagan and taking guided tours (included) of these fascinating areas.
Passengers were divided into small groups for the tours. Our English speaking guide, San, was very knowledgeable and attentive.
Though pricey, we enjoyed the experience and recommend it for the middle of your Myanmar travels.
