This was our first Cruise. We arrived in Galveston the day before and found a hotel off the main street by the ocean. We went to Joe's Crab Shack and enjoyed our meal. Our hotel room was noisy that night--as the college kids next to use--kept going in and out of the rooms on our end of the hotel. We were able to see the different ships leave from Port on Saturday night. We woke the next morning and ate breakfast at Denny's.

We got to the port about 11:30. It took us 2 times around to figure out how to get our luggage dropped off and then to go and park. We waited in line about 1 hr after getting into the Cruise Terminal, so much for express check in with those preprinted fun passes. We finally go on and went straight to our room. You cant believe how large this ship is. We had booked a balcony room. It was a blast to watch from the balcony when we left port. How the boat pushes off and the port pilot following us out of the port. Our luggage arrived within 3 hours. We went to the safety training and it was very helpful. Just remember to bring your life jackets and put them on properly.

Our first night at sea was pretty good. We had 7 foot waves heading out. It is fun to sit in the Atrium and watch people walking, as no one has their sea legs yet. We spent alot of time in the Atrium, as we are smokers and this was our normal stop thru out the cruise. We meet alot of neat people and loved to hear "George" play the piano.
