We had read a number of either critical or very good reviews. We were very pleased... the food was wonderful, by all means choose the unlimited dining package. We chose a different restaurant each night, and then revisited our favorites at the end. The "free style" cruising is very much to our liking. We thought the free entertainment was quite good ( most requires a reservation).. Blue Man Group, Cirque Dreams were tremendous. We went on three excursions.. with the Jamaica being the best stop. My only real criticism was that the cruise could easily have one extra stop, such as Roatan, since Costa Maya and Coz. are so close together. In the mornings we ate in the garden cafe, and pool side and the food was generally quite good, you can have eggs made to orders, and the quality is generally quite high.. The ship is well laid out, and elevators have good service.
We were a bit disappointed to learn the staff generally works 9 months in a row, and then two month off, generally from SE Asia... and I was bit saddened by that... everyone needs time off.. Give the staff one day of a week, for goodness sake. Can you imagine working 7 days in row, for 9 months. The most have explosions all the time.
We had a negative experience when the cabin steward thought we had damaged the balcony matting.. and one of the junior officers showed up and accused us of wrong doing.. but it turned out the deck chair didn't have a floor protector, so the chair made some divots in the rubber matting. But it we were accused first, and then the issue was investigated after the fact... do you suppose that has something to do with never getting a day off? LOL. I certainly hope that is not a typical experience.
The suite was fine... Mini is the correct term.. a bit confining, but they all the lines pack the guests in. .. a good in room TV with options, and the bath tub was nice.
