We've cruised extensively on Princess and Celebrity. We took this cruise because Carnival's kids club will take 2 year olds. We kept our expectations low and they were barely met.
The demographic on this cruise was interesting. There was the night where the fight almost broke out between two people outside their cabin down the hall from us. If you met some of the passengers on a dark street in NYC, you'd cross the street.
The food was either just ok (bland) or good, but never great. There wasn't a meal that stuck out in my mind as exceptional. The dining service was adequate. Several times the table cloth had large stains or was dirty. Once, the waiter reached across us to grab a knife for another table. There just isn't the level of service you'd expect.
The kids seemed to enjoy the kids club. The staff was great but seemed to be overwhelmed by the number of kids on the cruise.
The ship's decor is garish. It's like 70's glam mixed with art deco.
Carnival didn't give us a survey form. I guess they want to use Cruise Critic. It's too bad because there were some crew members who deserved to be called out like Mario from Guest Services and our Cabin Steward Benjamin.
