Sail Date: Feb 2014

Just returned today from the cruise. First, let me qualify, I've been on seven cruises all have been on NCL except this time we decided to try Carnival. I'm a casino player and spend a considerable time gambling. Carnivals ship was not well maintained. Very few trash containers throughout the ship in fact if you're carrying any trash, you can't find a place to throw it away. Very few hand sanitizing stations, you'd think with all the problems that Carnival has had they would have them everywhere, just like NCL does. Food in the buffet was about a two on a scale of ten. Most of the "stations" were closed, the times that the buffet was open was limited and the food quality tasted like they went to smart and final and bought everything out of a box. The dining room food was better and if you're going to sail with them, it's the only option for eating. They have "formal" nights, but wear whatever you want because "no one" will say anything to you, because there all afraid of having a guest complain and getting fired (that's to bad). We had an incident on this cruise and it appears Carnival will do its best to "COVER" it up. Three doors down from our suite, a man pushed his wife overboard. If not for the fast thinking of the Steward the women would have most likely died. Just like you would guess, if the captain makes this go away he'll receive a bonus, the steward on the other hand will have to be continually interrogated by the FBI and receive nothing for saving the cruise line Ten's if not 100's of thousand of dollars. I'm disappointed, but not surprised in Carnival, like I said in the beginning, I spend a lot of time in the casino, this trip I earned almost 60,000 points gambling and Carnival did absolutely nothing. NCL on the other hand, picks up our suite, dinners to the restaurants, and excursions.

Gee, wonder who my next cruise will be with?

Cabin Review

Well maintained by the Steward. Always clean and crew was always available for any requirements. Unfortunately guest don't realize the $12.00 a day "TIP", doesn't go to the steward, but is divided by all crew and the percentages are based on your rank on the ship. Housecleaning is at the bottom. I doubt these people get even a dollar a day TIP for cleaning your room. So, pick up after yourselves or leave them something additional. If you give it to your steward direct it stays with them and the people there working with.
