We booked the cruise on a whim, it was a good deal, but I was a bit worried by some of the reviews, but over the course of the week I was won over.
Embarkation was quick and easy. We were on the ship by about midday, and our room was ready within an hour or so. Comfortable bed, nice light-filled room.
The food was excellent - we tried all the specialist restaurants, we really liked Cagney's and Moderno and Tepenyaki. Bistro was OK - our server asked us every 30 seconds if everything was OK, but she didn't bring butter for the bread, and our medium lamb arrived rare - but that was the only off note on service. All the other restaurants had excellent attentive but not intrusive service. We like the freestyle system, it works well for us.
We spent several happy hours in the gym, which is well equipped. Later in the cruise we discovered the quiet part of deck 18, which was nice, because most of the public parts of the ship were pretty crowded and busy.
We loved Second City and the Blue Man group. Much more our kind of entertainment than the usual cruise ship mash-ups of musicals.
A negative was the smoking -- our neighbours smoked on the balcony, and when they did we had to retreat. Smoking in the casino didn't seem to matter so much.
We disembarked with our own bags, very quick and easy.
