Although there were many available excursions available we choose to just go exploring ourselves. Yes we did the usual shopping, but we also walked from one end of the city to the other just soaking up the sights and enjoying the weather. We also walked to Discover Mexico (about a 60 minute walk from the port). Here you will find scaled models of all the important and historical structures found throughout Mexico. It was a very enjoyable experience.

Cozumel

At the port there is a tourist village built especially for the cruise ships. We choose not to spend our time here but instead walked into town (Mulahaul) which took us approximately 40 minutes. You can also take a taxi and be there in about 8 mins but we are "walkers" and wanted to enjoy the sights on the way into the town. There we had previously reserved two lounge chairs and a beach umbrella right on the beach at the Tropicante. There was no charge to reserve and they hold them for two hours after your ship docks. All I had to do was send an email to Steve at steveuhl@sandalsandskis.com requesting the chairs and telling him the date of arrival and ship arriving on. We were sent an email from him giving us walking directions and confirming that the chairs would be ready for us. When we arrived we were taken directly to our chairs. The wait-staff were very attentive (didn't have to wait long periods of time for someone to come around to see if we needed anything), there was a nice selection of food to order and nothing was very expensive). There are also many things to do and see along the beautiful beach - we had a nice massage each but there is also ski-doos for rent, banana boat rides, paddling boarding available, and much more. All of which can be arranged for you by the staff when you are there. If it sounds as if I'm really going on about this - I am because we really loved the way we were treated and the wonderful beach day we had.

Costa Maya

There is really not much to the City of Belize so highly recommend taking some type of excursion. The airboat tour/tour of the city did not leave until 2:00 pm so we had a few hours to walk around the city before hand. The airboat tour was definitely not the heart racing, excitement type of tour that some may seek out but it was totally enjoyable. The tour staff were friendly and provided a great deal of information about the natural wildlife found in this area.

What a beautiful island. We took the South Shore Zipline Excursion and it was a totally enjoyable experience - 11 lines of Ziplining. We were picked up promptly at 0800 am and driven to the excursion site. Along the way a guide provided some interesting facts about Roatan itself. The staff South Shore were courteous, fun-loving and very firm on following all safety rules (a very comforting thing). After the ziplining there was a nice little café type area to relax a little and have something to eat. Then it was back to the port where we spent the afternoon just walking throughout the town, meeting some of the locals and of course doing a little shopping. We could definitely see ourselves going back to Roatan.

From the service to the entertainment - we enjoyed every aspect of this cruise.There was something different every night (not just the same type of entertainment regurgitated to different music).
