This Constellation is Missing a Few Stars

Sail Date: February 2014
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Not the best ship to sail on if you're looking for a luxury cruise. We were sailing with friends, and we all agreed this ship was disappointing because it wasn't up to the normal Celebrity standards.

With short cruises and with new guests coming in and out every 4 or 5 days, the ship has a feel of a revolving door. The staff seems so weary of a continuous influx of new people, they became immune to most complaints knowing these guests will be off the ship soon. The atmosphere is transient, and the service was mediocre at best.

It would be helpful if there was better service in the Oceanview Cafe for breakfast and lunch buffets. There's so much confusion up there, so many people trying to get through the lines, that we tried to avoid the area all together. It was hard to find a clean table, and the seating area was over-flowing with people. The dining at night in the main dining room was better, but at times that area also seemed short staffed. The waiters tried their More best, but we felt they had too many tables to wait on.

We enjoyed the shops on board and found a good selection of reasonably priced merchandise. The entertainment was better than other cruise lines we've been on. We couldn't find any classical music in the evening, but the musicians that played in the bar areas were quite good.

Our cabin stewards were always helpful and provided very friendly service -- the cabin was always clean. Room service was generally good with about a half hour wait, but it was difficult getting through to the operator to place your order. Also, embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly.

Everyone in our group remarked that the food quality and dining service throughout the ship was not a gourmet experience, and not nearly as good as other Celebrity cruises. The atmosphere on this cruise was very busy, and we prefer a more quiet time away. Less
