Liberty of the Seas was a fantastic cruise, open and honest review
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)
Embarcation was a breeze, no problems at all.
The ship is impressive, with as large of a ship as the Liberty is you would think there would be lines everywhere but we did not find this to be the case. I love the open promenade area and the shops did a great job changing merchandise so that you had lots to browse each night. The parties in the promenade area were great as well. We saw a few of the characters from DreamWorks and they really did a fantastic job making sure they spent time with all guests.
The pools seemed small at first but were quite adequate. The pool staff did a great job providing drinks, etc. The music was loud but if you got out of the main area (with the tv) it was much better.
As a side note, I loved the movies after dark on More deck, that was a nice touch. But, the security in the area should do a little better job keeping folks from being too roudy as it was impossible to hear the movie at times. Either turn it up or police the area. The loudest people were actually workers at the towel shack cutting up with each other. It's nice they were having a good time but it would be a little like talking out loud at a movie theater.
Those who complain about the food on this ship have obviously not been on other cruise lines. This food is good, try a Carnival or Norweigan and you'll absolutely love Royal's food. They also did a great job making sure everyone used hand sanitizer as you entered the food areas.
We had three balcony rooms in a row and we opened the walls between each of the balconies. This was an amazing large balcony for a standard balcony and with three connecting this was a highlight of the trip.
Great job Royal for a great trip! Less
Cabin review: 8602
We had cabin 8600, 8602 and 8603 and we had the room steward open the walls between the rooms to make one large balcony. The standard balcony on this room was the largest by far we have ever had, amazing! Probably 8' by 10'. The dividers slid back to open between balconies versus other ships where they swing out, blocking part of your view. Great design of a cabin would book in a heartbeat again.
