A Happy Ship
Destination: Canary Islands
From our Bournemouth flight right through to ship and back home the service was excellent. From previous P&O cruises it was our first Thomson cruise and we were very pleased with the whole package. All of the Crew and Staff were terrific, always a smile and attention to service and cleaning. Due to an earlier virus outbreak the ship were very careful with constant gel and cleaning. The only downside to this was that it made service in the Lido (self service!) rather slow and difficult to negotiate, but hey ho we were not in a rush
The ship felt a bit crowded and sun beds were squashed so tight it was difficult to move around but it did add to the buzz of the place.
The Meridian restaurant was very good with breakfast, lunch and dinner all well served by happy quality staff. The food was good with a fair choice and 5 courses at dinner. Freedom dining was perfect.
The entertainment across all areas was high quality from afternoon quizzes to Top Men Band and More the evening shows on all nights were the best we have ever seen on ship. A young troupe that could dance and sing and sing in 3 different languages from Queen to opera, need I say more.
Only downside was the old ship vibrated a lot. Our cabin on 3 deck 499 was mid ship and perfect. I would have been dissappointed with the new balcony rooms where the ship vibrated and noise from bar on this level late at night plus from the sport deck above thumping. Less

Cabin review: 499
Well looked after by Mat, except the carpet needed a good clean. Rather dissappointed at the lack of TV. Often no news channels available particularly at sea and in Tenerife.Pleasant surprise to find kettle plus tea and coffee in cabin.
Port and Shore Excursions
Small island and small port town. Just walked all round the port to town and up hill to fort and church. Back through the pretty old town and back to ship for lunch. OK
Northern area too far to take a trip to Maspalomas so just took easy walk out of port across local streets to beach (15 mins ) The area is not what you would call a tourist beach, more locals but OK.
