Fourteen Nights On The ECLIPSE

Sail Date: January 2014
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We have had over 30+ cruises. This was our first on the ECLIPSE. We had a wonderful cruise. If you are looking to read about "negatives", we found them very minor and, hardly worth reporting about. ~X~ did an excellent job, and, the ship was "spic and, span" from fore and, aft. ~X~ has great value for money. There were alot of "extras" they did charge for, but, it was optional and, we went for them. An example I am thinking about was the luggage valet when we returned to Ft. Lauderdale. This was the 2nd time I had seen this on a cruise ship. The other time was also on ~X~. The program works very well. We dropped off our bags outside the door at 9:30 PM the evening before dis-embarking. (11:00 PM, is the latest allowed.) The next time I saw our bags was in DEN about 20 hours later. Such a deal. We walked off the ship with our carry-on's for FLL when we got good and, ready. I liked that. The service includes boarding passes also. This service is for certain airlines and, certain More airports. FLL and, UNITED worked for the combination.

They charged $20.00 per bag, plus, and other airline imposed fees.

We had dinner for 8 of us one night in the great Italian steakhouse, named "Tuscan Grille". Magnificant service, and, atmosphere. The food was very good. I rate this place a 5 star restaurant.

We had a cabin guy that did a very nice job. He even gave my wife a little necklace from his home country of Thailand...that was impressive. Never had a cabin guy do that before. His name was Thann.

Also, the ship went all out for the Super Bowl. The theater was nicely decorated for the BRONCOS fans, one side and, Seahawks fans on the other side. So much food...buckets of beer. We were really impressed they went all out with all the food and, decor. and, the game was everywhere on the ship, bars, cabins, ect.

Also, on the next to the last day, they had a 10:00 AM Brunch that was incredible just in itself.

We truly enjoyed this cruise, and, the crew on the ~X~ ECLIPSE.

Oh yes, Perry Grant was aboard and, he did his usual shows that we enjoyed...One night on the big stage in the theater.

The ship is mostly smoke free and, this includes the casinos...so refreshing going there unlike other cruise ships.

So much to like, or, enjoy, we booked the very same cruise again next January 18th 2015, and several people we talked to have done the very same thing, so, ~X~ must be doing something right!

We agree! Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Eclipse 8233

Very nice clean and, spacious cabin. Loved the bathroom and, the new shower doors. The shower is bigger too, or, I have slimmed down since our last cruise...
