Outstanding trip on our first Celebrity tryout
We chose the Eclipse for it's longer Caribbean cruise. This was 14 days. We've done Cunard to this point & with them doing few Caribbean trips we've had to look elsewhere. The ship was spotless with lots of artwork all around the ship. Some was nice, some rather strange, but still a lot of artwork. Makes the ship look nicer inside, I feel. For main dining we were in Moonlight Sonata(the MDR)The food here was excellent overall. Most portions were generous & variety was excellent. This was much better than our trips on Cunard in Britannia(the Grills, however are still the way to travel!)Waitstaff never made us feel rushed & there was most definately more staff per pax than was visible on Cunard. The Murano rest. was outstanding with food done in a French flair, well worth the cover charge. Qsine was more of a tasting venue, with small portions you chose from an I Pad. We felt the average pax might not go for this as it was a bit adventuresome. Being "foodies" we like trying More
Restrooms were always being cleaned with attendants cleaning & folding cloth hand towels.Entertainment was nice but not over whelmingly great. The ship's band, while small had really good musicians. The show tunes were good & the players did their parts well. Most of them were really easy on the eyes(especially the guys!)The spa was nice, about the same as Cunard's Canyon Ranch. Prices were about equal, as well.
The staff, overall really made you feel welcome. They seemed really interested if you having a good time. Ron Banks with his Zumba classes was really perky & gave the ladies a good workout. Perry Grant in Michaels Club was a great Cabaret type piano player with a great sense of humor. We've never seen anything quite like him on any other ship. He has a following that is legendary. Attend one of his shows & you'll see why. Worth booking again just to see him! Overall this was an outstanding trip & a great way to experience Celebrity. We do plan a trip next year mostlikely on the same ship, as they seem to have things down to a science. We liked the fact that it was an older crowd with few children. I hear Celebrity wants to change this. well don't!! At least keep Eclipse the way it is & you'll have us on future trips! Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Eclipse 8173
Standard inside cabin. Fairly small. Could use more drawer space on long trips. Nice bathroom, lots of storage. Nice shower with glass doors, intead of shower curtain.
Port and Shore Excursions
Nice island tour with an extensive beach break. Lunch was served. Quite nice. Lots of shells along the water line. Water was murky due to fine sand constantly churned up by the surf. Locals sold their wars, but were not intrusive.
Arikok National Park
Very nice. Land & sites is unspoiled. Not a rain forest, has hills & unique rock features
Ayo Rock Formations
Really strange rock formations caused by erosion. Great views from atop the highest formation. May be hard to climb for folks with limited mobility.
Nice beach break. Great water & soft sand. You're near the road so hawkers will come to sell their wares.
Hato caves are a nice place to take a tour. The guides lead you down into the caves, giving a detailed history. Lots of bats visible(fruit bats)The climb up (yes up!) can be quite hard on thos with limited moblity a few had to turn back.
City tour was nice showing you all the Dutch style buildings painted in bright colors.Lots of shops to explore.
Very long bus ride to see the Pitons..outstanding is all I can say! you need to see them closeup yourself! Next we toured the Volcano. Really neat. Lots of sulphury smell!
