We are seasoned travellers on Azamara and previously had wonderful experiences, however this cruise was the worst so much so that we have cancelled our next cruise with Azamara. The ship has gone down market since introducing all inclusive policy. The staff couldn't care less as they know they have their tips. Our steward was hopeless and argued constantly with me. The bedding was appauling, it smelt and the pillows were disgusting and it took 6 days to change them!! The wines were the cheapest and no alternative was available so if you don't like Riesling, then 3 nights of the cruise you will have nothing to drink unless as suggested by the somelier you can buy another wine at your own expense on top of the wines you have already paid for. The food in Aqualina was misrepresented on the menu as the whole Lobster was not a Lobster at all but a small funny looking lobster tail. The Dover Sole was not Dover Sole. When we complained the waiters argued with us saying it was. We are from England and after talking to several people on board an american complained and was informed that it was an error and should have been changed on the menu, however this was not done. Our cabin constantly smelt of sewage, Our shower was broken for the first 5 days and in the end the head of housekeeping appeared and changed the controls, however in the meantime I had to go and shower in the spa. The spa did not have any shower caps and this went on for six days until they suddenly found some, so i got soaked every day.
I did take the trouble to write to Larry Pimental who passed the buck to some idiot in Guest relations who instead of acknowledging there was a problem just said he had never encountered this before. Not helpful and I think rude.
Anycase do not book this if you are looking for 4 or 5 star treatment. If this had been a hotel we would have walked out on the first day
