13th Cruise (7th with Princess) Age early 50's
Very quick at Melbourne port for Platinum Level.
Mini suite in centre of ship B429 (MA)
Good cabin with double balcony. Bathroom single sink area has no place to put toiletries anywhere. Walk in wardrobe small but ok for short trips. Balcony furniture old and rusty patches over balcony. NO EXTRAS for this level of suite - disappointing. Good full large shower and large jacuzzi bath.
Excellent production numbers as usual. Great costumes, choreography and great orchestra. Guest acts excellent (Steve Larkins) Freddie Mercury impersonator was a highlight.
Vista Lounge - very good and comfortable area. Princess Theatre too small for ship - you need to get in 30 minutes before a show to get a seat.
Main dining room - excellent. Horizon court - very good selection - open till midnight. Pizzeria (La Scala) has very good quality pizzas. Patisserie makes good lattes.
Unlimited Kids Package - only $8.00 a day. Excellent value for all soft drinks, juices, Mocktails (smoothies), Hot chocolates and Ice Cream.
STABILITY OF SHIP
Can not handle the TASMAN SEA when rough - 5 metres waves caused shuddering, pitching and rolling. Lots of people sick - sick bags placed all over the ship. Otherwise sailing around the coast in NZ all OK.
Terrible. Dawn Princess wont let you get 2 tickets (one for your partner). Forced to wait in dining room for long time until called. (other ships allow you to roam around ship and get coffee etc and call you when tender boat is ready on PA.)
Small but adequate.
Have a mind of their own. Don't stop where you tell them to. Long waits.
Ship needs updating as per Sun Princess (International Cafe, updated decor etc)
Captain Pickford very aloof and no daily updates from him (only from the officer on the watch)
